Mexico winger Guardado happy at Deportivo PDF Print E-mail

Mexico winger Andrés Guardado has returned to training with Deportivo La Coruña and insists he will be staying with the Spanish La Liga club.
Guardado has been linked with a move away from the Riazor for a while and Deportivo president Augusto César Lendoiro said before the summer that a big offer could tempt the club to cash in on the popular midfielder, ESPN soocernet reported Wednesday.
However, the sale of full-back Filipe Luis to Atletico Madrid this week looks to have eased Deportivo La Coruña's financial problems − at least for now − and the 23-year-old Guardado has no intention of leaving.
"I am here to stay,'' he said. "I don't have any offers or any itching to leave. If any offer comes in, the president will tell me, but I'm relaxed and my head is focused on Deportivo this season.
"Filipe spent four years here, so why shouldn't I be here that long? I have no problem and no hurry. At my age, I have time for something else later on, but I'm happy, I've been well-treated by the people here and I have no reason to think about leaving."
